Retiring SpellItBack.com

SpellItBack.com

It has been about a year since we launched SpellItBack.com. It has a single function, to return a user’s text input in revers. It was a fun experiment, meant not only to entertain but maybe also to offer some mental exercise.

Since the website was an experiment, we did not promote it much, so an audience did not mature around it.

We have decided to retire it at the end of November.

SpellItBack.com, our newest website is live. It is dedicated to having fun with our language, at least for the time being.

Spell It Back will take any word or other text you enter in the textbox and return it spelled backwards. Now the fun start when you try to read the results. You can have fun by taking a message, running it through SpellItBack.com and then email it to your friends or post it on their Facebook profile.

But Spell It Back is not only for fun. It is a good brain teaser and exercise to help you read and memorize more complex letter and words combinations.

Here is some reveres text to help you get started:

DomainRecord.Info Maintenance

DomainRecord.Info (DRI) is currently down for maintenance. After recent changes to our server infrastructure it became clear that parts of the code behind what made DomainRecord.Info a great whois search engine have become outdated. After reviewing the newly aroused errors, we have decided that instead of performing patch work, it will be best to rewrite portions of the website.

The goals for developing DomainRecord.Info anew are:

  • Make the website more independent from the server’s hardware and configuration. – Here we are looking to have any frameworks (php PEAR) DRI depend on, to become part of the website. Currently DRI relies on PEAR already being installed on the system. This will allow the DRI to freely be transferred/sold to another entity.
  • Improve self-sufficiency by decreasing the use of third-party scripts and embedded services. – This is partly about the whois search engine, but mostly about the use of third-party embedded services, like the Intense Debate commenting system.
  • Face lift to the layout, and the addition of new features.
