DomainRecord.Info (DRI) is currently down for maintenance. After recent changes to our server infrastructure it became clear that parts of the code behind what made DomainRecord.Info a great whois search engine have become outdated. After reviewing the newly aroused errors, we have decided that instead of performing patch work, it will be best to rewrite portions of the website.
The goals for developing DomainRecord.Info anew are:
- Make the website more independent from the server’s hardware and configuration. – Here we are looking to have any frameworks (php PEAR) DRI depend on, to become part of the website. Currently DRI relies on PEAR already being installed on the system. This will allow the DRI to freely be transferred/sold to another entity.
- Improve self-sufficiency by decreasing the use of third-party scripts and embedded services. – This is partly about the whois search engine, but mostly about the use of third-party embedded services, like the Intense Debate commenting system.
- Face lift to the layout, and the addition of new features.
